House of Prayer

Oslokirkens pastors Aina & Jan-Aage Torp have since the summer of 2021 sensed a divine leading to have daily prayer gatherings in Oslokirken. Experience shows that ongoing prayer brings great blessing and change among individuals, families and in society attached large.

- We have discovered at a deeper level the word in Isaiah 56:7 which shows that prayer is an inherent part of every congragation´s life, says Pastor Aina:

«For my house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples».

She adds that prayer must have precedence over all financial considerations, which became extra visible when Jesus entered the temple (Matthew 21:12-13):

«And Jesus entered the temple and drove out all who sold and bought in the temple, and he overturned the tables of the money-changers and the seats of those who sold pigeons. He said to them, ´It is written, ´My house shall be called a house of prayer,’ but you make it a den of robbers´.»

The prayer meetings in Oslokirken are always based on a specific Bible passage which emphasizes one truth or dimension, such as justice, the new life, missions, the family etc.

Oslokirken´s daily prayer meetings have also led to prayer meetings in other European centers where our pastor couple lead prayer via Zoom.

- Prayer is both a personal experience and a labor of prayer, establishes Aina Torp.
