There was an enlightening debate at the Agendamorning thinktank on the freedom concept at Youngstorget this morning between the Labor Party leader Jonas Gahr Støre, the Education & Research Minister Torbjørn Røe Isaksen, PhD in political theory Hilde Nagell, and idea historian Håvard Friis Nilsen, led by editor Kaia Storvik. Pastor Jan-Aage Torp posed questions about freedom in the light of religion and faith, and he got thought-provoking answers, especially from the Minister of Education and Research.
Minister of Education & Research Torbjørn Røe Isaksen said among other things: «I am sceptical to thinking that we should detail-control the cultural norms of everybody in Norway. You represent, Torp, also a church and a milieu that should be concerned if we were to impose «»the liberality of the Majority» on you».
